Re-imagining the future for the Khoe community
Multidisciplinary Exhibition - Poetry, AR, Photography, Music!Habesi, draws attention to the challenges faced by the San/Khoe people in South Africa due to the Land Rights Act, which has a 1913 cut-off date that precludes them from claiming land they were dispossessed of from as early as 1657.
To creatively explore a re-imagined future for the Khoe community without colonial interruption or the erasure of apartheid, we headed out to Upington and interviewed Ouma Katrina, a living legend and Khoi activist, to creatively explore a re-imagined future for the Khoe community into visual art, paintings, poetry, photography, and augmented reality.
