Description/Synopsis:
A disgruntled South African woman leaves her fiancé and embezzles money from her job to pursue her dream of being a Broadway star in New York City.

Directed by Muzi Mthembu, the movie was released on 23 July 2021 and sees main character Phumi Mthembu who portrays Nompumelelo cynically burn all her bridges in South Africa as she engages on an adventure to becoming a Broadway star in America. However, not everything is as easy as she had imagined when reality sets in and she learns about true love, true happiness, and true citizenship.
The film focuses on the thin line between responsibilities and dreams, highlighting how the pursuit of big ambitions may leave the ones close to you hurt in the process. It brings a fresh perspective rarely seen in South African movies by further drawing contrast between being black in both these countries. This exciting new drama’s ability to push boundaries brings it to the front line as New Age Artistry’s #MovieOfTheMonth for the month of August.
