The much talked about, most anticipated and most awaited play of 2021 is coming to the theatre near you. The Tragedy of Samuel Omunye is showing at the Tin Town Theatre from the 22nd May 2021 until the 30th May 2021.
The play is written and directed by Masai Sepuru and features Thabang Chauke and James Sithole as performers. It asks a very simple yet complex question: What does Determinism infer concerning Africa’s history and current state?
This two-hander is a high-stakes story that will have you at the edge of your seat and holding your breath, as the two-character grapple with their past, beliefs, trauma and how to best decolonize their country.
As the name suggests, the story is a tragic tale, set in a fictional country of Niamba that like other African countries, has gone through colonialization then ultimately got its independence.
