2020 saw the first digital edition of the Canon Student Development Programme during the International festival of photojournalism, Visa pour l’image. 230 students, over 40 nationalities, from more than 100 schools and universities, were selected to attend the virtual event. The 2020 programme was packed with online talks, webinars and virtual portfolio reviews, with some of the most influential names in the world of photography. The unique four-day programme is back and kicks off in September 2021. Applications for the Canon Student Development Programme 2021 are open. 250 students will have the exclusive opportunity to have their portfolio reviewed by inspirational industry leaders and receive advice on how to advance their careers. How To Apply:
For your chance to take part in the Canon Student Development Programme, submit a digital portfolio with a maximum of two stories and include up to twenty fully captioned* images, with an accompanying synopsis or description.
Applicants will need to include details of their school, institute, university or internship with magazines and agencies. Alongside this, Canon will require a short photographer’s bio and if possible, a letter of presentation from your teacher, professor, editor or employer.

ORGANISER AND PARTICIPANTS
The Organiser is Canon Europa N.V. 59 Bovenkerkerweg, 1185 XB (“Organiser”);
1. The Data processor is Interpay Sales Promotions, IDA Business & Technology Park, Ring Road, Kilkenny, Ireland.
2. All entrants (“Entrants”) must be aged 18 at the date June 9th, 2021, must have started or completed an education program during the academic year 2020-2021, or be engaged in internships by agencies or magazines within the same period; proof of enrolment to the educational institution or agency / magazine internship and/or copy of the student card will determine the eligibility and the admission.
3. Employees of the Organiser, its subsidiary companies, their families, agents and other parties directly involved with this Programme and the sponsorship are not eligible to enter.
4. By entering this Canon Students Digital Development Programme Competition (“Competition”) all Entrants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions unless notified otherwise in writing.
